Here are the 4 rule changes that the Board has presented to residents for a vote:
- Remove all references to Pulte (the original developer), in the document, except where it is in the best legal advantage to keep the reference in.
- Remover term limits from Advisory Committee Membership
- Get rid of undemocratic cumulative voting – in which a candidate with the support of just 500 homeowners can actually garner 1500 votes and defeat a candidate with the support of 1499 households.
- Do not allow homeowners to rent their homes for a day or a weekend. While the current governing documents restrict rentals to 90 days and over, there is a loophole which has allowed some homeowners rent their property out for a week, weekend or even a day. The compromise was to remove the loophole but reduce the minimum rental period to 45 days.
